Soccer Field Upgrade

Last week I met with the Town of Vaughan and our board to discuss our school’s soccer field. The town is interested in permitting our field for us after school by the community. However, due to extensive use our field is quite worn down. The town has agreed to lay new sod down on our soccer field (the portion that has completely worn down). They have started work on this today. This will mean, we will be off that portion of the field from now into the spring. Once the sod has taken root, we will be able to return to using the soccer field. While we do lose a portion of our field, the long term benefits for our school and community are wonderful. We know our students enjoy soccer greatly and I look forward to the new sod helping with their games and our physical education programs.  I thank the Town of Vaughan for their partnership with our board on this project.
