Student Bloggers: Our Eco Team

Thanks to a team of student bloggers with this update on our EcoTeam

Dear LJPS

As an Eco Team, we have been looking at your recycle bins and garbage bins.  As a school we want to ensure that garbage goes in our garbage cans, recycling goes in our recycling bins and compost items go in our green bins. Each class now has a small circle magnet on their door.  Red represents that your class has a lot of garbage in your recycle bin.  Yellow represents that your class has only a little bit of garbage in your recycle bin, and green represents that there is no garbage in your recycle bin.  Let’s all get greens! We have also been looking at classes who have been saving energy by turning off the lights and the monitors in the classroom.  Also, we have been noticing many straws from juice boxes in the recycle bin. This is an area we can improve in.  Please remember to put the straws in the garbage and empty juice boxes in the recycle bin.

Please do your part and help us save the environment!

Sincerely,

The Eco Team
