Lorna Jackson Public School Blog

New frontiers for new learning

UPCOMING DATE

Dear Families,

Today marks the start of Anti-Bullying week across York Region.  At Lorna Jackson, our staff and students talk about bullying all year, but this week provides us with a time to focus on teaching and learning about bullying.  Our student council has decided to extend the event by creating a school wide poster contest and culminating with a “DAY OF PINK” on November 28th.  On November 28th, we ask students to wear pink to our good news assembly in support of anti-bullying.

We would also like to thank you for your patience as we get our school calendar up and running on the blog and our school website.  Please mark your calendars for the following upcoming dates:

Pizza Lunches occur every Friday

November 17th- School Council meeting 7pm in the staff room

November 18th- Girls Volleyball tournament at LJPS

November 19th -Full Hot Lunch program begins and grade 6 VIP program (each Wednesday for the next 4 weeks)

November 25th- Grade 3 gifted screening

November 28th– Good News Assembly 9:30 a.m. (Wear Pink)

December 4th- Grade 8 Girls Immunization (HPV)

We thank you for all of your support and feedback- Lorna Jackson is a most amazing place to be.

Sincerely,

M. Bongard & E. Lau
